Home working, within all industries, has been increasing steadily over the past decade and will continue to do so as companies look to give their workforce greater flexibility with their work options and reduce costs from employing staff at head office sites.

Unfortunately, very few companies have the resource to ensure that home workers receive a Health & Safety risk assessment of their home office, a legal requirement for all remote workers as part of The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1992.

A Saltire Home Office Assessment will not only ensure that your company is fully compliant with the above legislation, it will strive to make your home workers as safe and as comfortable as possible in their home office environment, hopefully making them more efficient and productive as a result. Your home workers will also be comforted by the fact that their employer cares about their welfare.

Each assessment will last 30-45 minutes and will cover the following areas:

Assessments can be expanded to cover driving if your home worker carries out a lot of driving as part of their role.

The completed assessment, with any action points and recommendations, will be forwarded to the home worker's line manager within 24hrs of the assessment taking place. If furniture has been recommended, that can be supplied through accounts held with Posturite & The Human Office, from a budget range to executive quality.

The costs of a home office assessment, including PAT testing, are as follows:

Edinburgh & the Lothians - £75

Borders, Lanarkshire & Fife - £80

Perthshire, Tayside & Strathclyde - £85

Aberdeenshire & Highland - £95

Cumbria, Northumberland & Tyneside - £105

A discount of 10% is available for companies with 20 or more home workers requiring an assessment.
